2014 Scholarship Recipients
Jessica Stone (From Granada Hills)
Jessica, a second year Foundation scholarship recipent, attends Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she will be a Junior. Jessica is pursuing a major in Applied Math and Statistics and also plays on the women's golf team. She has a summer internship with the British Consulate General in Los Angeles and will be spending her Spring semester in Copenhagan.
Isabella Salant (From Carlsbad)
Isabella will be attending Santa Clara University this fall. She is an athlete and a scholar, having achieved membership in the National Honor Society as well as receiving All-Academic Team honors from the San Diego Union Tribune. Isabella will be attending Leavey School of Business and will major in business. She will also be playing golf for the Santa Clara Women's team.
Jamie Harada (Graduate of Mater Dei High School)
Jamie will attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the fall where she will pursue a degree in business finance and will also play Division I golf. In high school, Jamie was a team captain and was recognized by the Orange County Register as a First Team All-County Golfer. She was also on the Principal's Honor Roll for four years and is most proud of the Honors Chemistry Award which she acheived through perserverance and a opositive attitude.
Georgia Lacey (Graduate of Torrey Pines High School)
Georgia will attend San Diego State University this fall where she will major in Sports Physchology or Kinesiology. She played all four years while a student at Torrey Pines HS and also particiopated during the summer months in San Diego County Junior Golf Association tournaments. Georgia will continue her golf career at San Diego State and compete in the Mountain West Conference.
Yamilet Nunez-Meraz (Graduate of Coachella Valley High School)
Yamilet was a recent member of the Coachella Valley Girls' Golf Team and plans to attend Chapman University in the fall. A trip abroad to England last summer inspired Yamilet's decision to pursue a degree in international business. Although she will not play college golf, Yamilet knows it will play a big role in her future in the business world.
Natalie Mattison (Graduate of Calvary Chapel High School)
Natalie will attend the University of California Riverside this fall where she will major in business and minor in sports management. As a high school student, she received recogniton as an Orange Coast Scholar Athlete MVP for four years. Natalie also participated in the SCPGA Toyota Tour Cup Series which she credits for preparing her to play on the UC Riverside golf team. Her dream is to start a golf clothing line for women.
Cayberlin Allen (From Poway)
Cayberlin attends Biola University and is a second year recipient of the Foundation's Bev Granger Scholarship. She majors in Human Biology and intends to pursue a career as a Physician's Assistant. Cayberlin will also be taking courses to qualify as an EMT in preparation for her PA credentials. Although she competed for the Biola golf team during her freshman year, Cayberlin has since resigned as balancing her activities with her academic demands proved difficult. She is maintaining ties to the golf community by working at Mt. Woodson this summer and playing golf for fun and recreation.
